Ernest
Webb (Cree) co-founded Rezolution Pictures International
in 2001. At Rezolution Pictures, based in Montreal, Quebec, Webb
has produced and directed documentaries such as Cree Spoken
Here and Heavy Metal: A Mining Disaster in Northern Quebec.
Most of the films Webb has produced at Rezolution, including three
seasons of Dab Iyiyuu/Absolutely Cree, have aired in Canada
on Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. Webb is the executive
producer of Moose TV, a half-hour comedy series that will
air in Canada on Showcase in 2007. He serves on the editorial
board of The Nation, a Cree newsmagazine published by Beesum
Communications, a publishing company Webb founded with William
Nicholls and Catherine Bainbridge in 1993. Webb began his media
career in Mistissini, Quebec, as a producer for Cree Radio Network,
later working as an announcer of CBC North's daily morning Cree-language
radio program Winschgaoug. He was born in Moose Factory, Ontario,
and raised in Chisasibi, Quebec.
