Dax Thomas

Dax ThomasDirector and video editor Dax Thomas (Laguna/Acoma) attended Native Voices: the Center for Indigenous Media at the University of Washington from 1999-2003. In 2004 he participated in the Institute of American Indian Arts Summer Film and Television Workshop in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2003, his short film Withdrawl premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. In 2002, A Century of Genocide in the Americas: The Residential School Experience, which was produced, photographed, and edited by Thomas, won the Best Documentary Short Award at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. He is currently working with artist Nora Naranjo-Morse on several documentaries about her work. Thomas lives in Casa Blanca, New Mexico.
